Hello everyone! Welcome to (and back to) art class! I'm excited to work with all of the new students I've met in the past couple of days, and am pleased that I saw more than a few familiar faces in the crowd who were in my classes last year. There is so much to look forward to over the next semester as we launch into our studio projects, starting this week!
All students in class this past week received a syllabus explaining everything they need to know about the Art 1 course, as well as a sample rubric that illustrates how their projects will be graded. I am posting these to the blog JUST IN CASE the hard copies students received of these documents mysteriously disappear into the vortex of their backpacks/ lockers, never to be found again.
Parents and students can email me at anytime with questions/ comments about things happening in art class throughout the year. Have fun, and good luck with the start of ALL of your classes!

As the 2011- 2012 school year came to a close a lonely piece of plywood sitting in my classroom was begging to be painted upon. My 9th grade Art 1 class took on the job of turning it into something beautiful for our school, and I'd say they succeeded by a long shot.
